Autumn Barnes

Gallery Assistant
Autumn Barnes, raised in Guelph, Ontario, has nurtured a lifelong dedication to the worlds of literature and art. Her academic journey led her to Brock University in St. Catharines, where she immersed herself in dual majors, studying English Language and Literature alongside Studio Arts. This educational foundation paved the way for her adventurous leap in 2022, when she embarked on an enriching experience to South Korea. There, Autumn dedicated a year to teaching English to middle school students, a role that allowed her to share her passion for the English language beyond the Canadian borders.

Upon returning to Canada, Autumn didn't let her fervor for teaching wane. She adeptly balances part-time English teaching, continuing to impact her students' lives, while also indulging her artistic and literary inclinations. She plays a pivotal role in the Rookleys’ blog, driving the creative content with her insightful perspectives on art and literature. Additionally, as a co-manager of the gallery’s social media presence, she bridges the gap between traditional art forms and the digital age, engaging a wider audience.

Autumn Barnes embodies a unique blend of sincere enthusiasm for Canadian art and a youthful curiosity that resonates deeply with gallery visitors. Her approachable demeanor and genuine interest in fostering discussions make her an invaluable asset to the gallery. Visitors feel at ease engaging with the collection, asking questions, and diving deeper into the art world, thanks to Autumn's infectious passion and knowledgeable guidance.
