The Misty Mountains by Michael French is a monochromatic acrylic on paper that portrays a sundrenched glacial lake. Small peaks loom in the distance, dwarfed by the immense sky that dominates the composition. There is a bold contrast between the flowing water in the foreground and the towering space above which adds a striking dimension to the piece- the sun peaking ever so slightly through the clouds, shining light into the center of the painting.
