Generations: Art Toronto Preview

Generations highlights some of the most important historic art teachers of Canada's art history of the 19th and 20th century. This showcases four generations of art teachers and students, Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith who taught John William Beatty, who taught Doris McCarthy, who in turn taught Kazuo Nakamura. Each were connected through teacher-student relationships at the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD University). Spanning over a century, these artists not only shaped the visual language of Canadian art but also left a lasting impact as educators. Generations offers a rare opportunity to learn about Canada's most important art teachers  and how the legacy of these teachers lives on through the generations they inspired.
