Large looping arcs in deep violet and black move across the surface, creating a sense of rhythm and enclosure, while brilliant passages of orange, turquoise, gold, lavender, and pale blue animate the spaces between them.
The painting combines fluid drips, splashes, gestural marks, and heavily worked areas of pigment with collaged or textured elements embedded into the surface. Several irregular gold-toned forms appear within the larger circular structures, adding both physical depth and a tactile quality. These passages suggest fragments, vessels, petals, or organic forms without resolving into literal imagery.
Bright orange areas provide the strongest visual accents, pushing forward against cooler fields of blue and violet. Fine turquoise lines weave across the composition, connecting different sections and reinforcing the sense of movement. Black openings and darker passages create pockets of depth, giving the densely layered surface moments of visual pause.
Blessing feels energetic yet interconnected, with repeated circular and arching forms suggesting cycles, gathering, protection, or renewal. Vance uses colour, texture, and gesture to create a richly layered work that balances spontaneity with structure, allowing the viewer to move between individual details and the broader rhythm of the composition.
