Figures on the Golf Course by Dewitt Drake is a 9 x 10.8 inch oil on board produced circa 1940 featuring an estate stamp on the bottom right corner. The painting depicts two golfers as they walk the green on a summer day. The sun beams down on the surrounding trees and casts the foreground in a golden light. Dewitt uses loose brush strokes and a playful colour palette to bring life and movement to this piece. The sky dominates the composition, dwarfing the figures below. Rolling hills in the distance, painted in a deep purple, add depth to the scene. This painting comes to us from D&E Lake in Toronto.
