Elizabeth Ross was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and spent her early years in Ottawa, where her passion for the arts was sparked through visits to the National Gallery of Canada. In 2003, her family relocated to Fredericton, New Brunswick, where Elizabeth's love for art continued to flourish. During her time in Fredericton, she actively participated in various activities, including the Girl Guides, cadets, band, and cheerleading, which helped shape her diverse interests and skills.
In 2016, at just 17 years old, Elizabeth joined the military, driven by a strong sense of duty and a thirst for adventure. She quickly honed her technical skills and eventually became an Imagery Technician. Her military career took her across Canada and around the globe, with a significant deployment to Ukraine in 2018 that deepened her adaptability and determination. After a successful and fulfilling career, Elizabeth retired from her role as an Imagery Technician in the Canadian Armed Forces in 2021.
That same year, Elizabeth furthered her education by earning a Military Arts and Science certificate from Algonquin College.
After her military retirement, she settled in Fort Erie, Ontario. Her exceptional work ethic and keen eye for detail are evident in her home renovation projects and her lasting contributions to numerous Niagara businesses through her savvy social media management and customer service skills. She is currently continuing her studies at Niagara College, further expanding her knowledge.
Much like the visual stories depicted on the canvases in Rookleys’ collection, it is Elizabeth’s adventurous spirit, and her love and loyalty to our country that complements the experience of gallery visitors.
