Lisa brings a unique blend of curatorial, creative, and communication skills to Rookleys Canadian Art Gallery. With a background in playwriting, theatre, and film, she applies her storytelling expertise to writing artwork descriptions, exhibition texts, and interpretive materials that connect audiences to Canadian art.
At Rookleys, she builds meaningful partnerships with museums and galleries, facilitates institutional loans, and integrates Canadian art into contemporary, classical, heritage, and traditional spaces. Surrounded by Rookleys’ collection, which specializes in Canadian landscapes, Lisa draws inspiration from these works’ vision, artistry, and ability to capture the spirit of the land. From early 19th-century painters through to the Group of Seven and beyond, they deepen her connection to Canadian art and strengthen her reverence for Canada’s vast natural beauty.
If you're a museum or gallery curator, Lisa welcomes opportunities to collaborate—whether by sharing works from your collection or offering pieces from Rookleys’ collection for exhibition. For estate representatives, she works to highlight and preserve the legacy of Canadian artists, continuing projects that celebrate and safeguard their contributions.
