Though born in Markham, Ontario, Grace spent five of her most formative years in the southern English countryside. It was the grassy pastures of Helston, Cornwall which first sparked her profound relationship with nature and the artistic expression it cultivates. At the age of 8 her family decided to relocate to St. Catharines, Ontario, and so she returned to Canada; where her love of nature sowed the seeds for her pursual of a post-secondary education in Biology.
As a graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelors of Science along with a multitude of post-graduate experiences, Grace combines a strong academic foundation with her artistic interests. Her studies have allowed her to explore the intersection of science and creativity, nurturing her curiosity and love for research and writing. Grace's strengths lie in writing and research, and she is eager to apply these skills in support of Rookley's mission.
She is delighted to contribute her deep passion for art and its ability to tell stories to the Rookleys team. From an early age, Grace has loved art's ability to both bring people together, and foster connections between them. This fascination has shaped parts of her life, inspiring her to immerse herself in various artistic endeavors such as writing and sketching.
Grace is an avid hiker who loves exploring Canada’s beautiful outdoors and finding inspiration in nature. Her love for the natural world complements her appreciation for art, and she is excited to be instrumental in the gallery’s aim to not only showcase but provide education on historic Canadian art.
