Harbour Town, c 1962 by Geza Marich is a 16 x 20 oil on board. A harbour where people and ships can find shelter from the weather and dock to offload goods or passengers. The fevered clouds are painted with tones of blueish grey with soft brushes of yellow and white. These hues aren’t as apparent in the sea foam blue water below where it meets the shore of multicoloured boats. The high-key pallet is contrasted with the strong hues of the people and buildings adorned with pinkish-red wood, grey retaining wall, and navy blue and maroon red clothing pulling a green hulled boat to shore. Small boating vessels in red and orange are caught resting beside the housing structures, waiting for their next trip to the fine waters. Rolling apple-green hills and a suggestion of distant mountains and coastal cliffs define the horizon with colour and space. The overall perspective and touch of maritime colours undoubtedly resemble true coastal beauty.
