Deranged Rooster by Duncan de Kergommeaux is a mixed media piece on paper signed in the bottom right corner. The abstract picture of a rooster moving to the vibrant rhythm of the brushstrokes in his anatomy. The rooster's comb and tail feathers can be felt through the upper right and bottom planes of the paper, with the vibrant blue of his tail being a nod to loose pointillism, adding dimension to the animal growing with the brush. The blending of the two hues is combined with a very subtle green complimenting the frenzy of blue, with the sunny yellow peaking through to indicate a bright light outside. With the rooster as the main focal point of the painting, the backdrop of swatches creates the motion of a subject in deranged movement.
