The painting is signed in the bottom right corner. It depicts a coastal landscape at sunset. Rustic houses look out over the seaside towards distant mountains painted in hues of violet and indigo. Brownell uses soft brush strokes and diffused light to create a whimsical, almost dream-like atmosphere. The water reflects the pastel hues of the sky and the wispy clouds above.
This piece was part of the Galerie Walter Klinkhoff 2007 Retrospective Exhibition before becoming part of the Rookleys collection.
