The Mists of Early Morn by Alan Collier is a 30 x 20 inch oil on canvas that was produced in December of 1961 and is signed in the bottom...The Mists of Early Morn by Alan Collier is a 30 x 20 inch oil on canvas that was produced in December of 1961 and is signed in the bottom right corner. The piece depicts a forest landscape, the foreground shrouded in shadow. The light of early morning peaks through the tall, thin trees and a light mist seems to hang in the air beyond. The vertical composition of the piece accentuates the height of the tree trunks and their dark forms are contrasted against the light in the background.
This piece was on display at the Roberts Gallery in Toronto before being added to our extensive collection of Alan Collier works.
