Sabina Fenn’s A Corner in the Plant Store is a lively and colourful painting that captures the charm of a plant shop filled with potted flowers and lush greenery. Arranged across three golden-yellow shelves, an assortment of flowering plants creates a playful composition rich in colour, texture, and contrast.

Bright pink, lavender, yellow, and deep red blossoms stand out against dark green foliage, while terracotta, pink, purple, and brown pots introduce additional warmth and variety. Fenn uses bold outlines, simplified shapes, and thick, expressive brushstrokes to give each plant its own distinctive character. The vibrant yellow shelving provides a strong geometric structure, balancing the organic shapes of the leaves and flowers.

Fenn’s contemporary approach combines elements of abstraction with the familiar beauty of everyday surroundings. Her confident use of colour and energetic application of paint transform an ordinary corner of a plant store into a cheerful, inviting scene that celebrates the simple pleasures of nature and daily life.
