Spring Flowers, 2023 by David Drum is an oil on masonite, measuring 20 x 18.5 inches and signed at the bottom right. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1944, Drum began painting as a child under the guidance of his father and won the Canadian National Exhibition mural competition at just 17. He later studied Impressionist techniques influenced by Claude Monet, spent a decade in New York exploring abstract expressionism, and worked as a medical illustrator before returning to focus on his career as a professional painter.

Drum’s work celebrates natural landscapes and floral subjects, combining vibrant color, expressive brushwork, and a deep understanding of light and form. He continues to paint from his home-gallery-studio in Crystal Beach, Ontario, and his works are represented exclusively by Rookleys Canadian Art, as well as held in private, corporate, and public collections across Canada.
