York Wilson’s Mediterranean Reflection (1975) is one of a series of original holiday cards the artist sent annually to friends and collectors, a heartfelt tradition that spanned from the early 1970s until shortly after his death in 1984. Each card features a small print from Wilson’s Geometric Works phase (1966–1971) on the front.

This particular card, Mediterranean Reflection (1975), depicts bold geometric abstraction and sophisticated colour harmony. Dominated by soft blues with touches of green, white, and black, the composition evokes a sense of calm and structure without directly depicting a recognizable scene. Though the title hints at a Mediterranean inspiration, the piece itself resists literal interpretation.

These holiday cards were more than just season greetings, they were a lovely tradition which created a personal bond between Wilson and his collectors, building loyalty around his work. The inside features a handwritten note from York Wilson, personally signed by both York and his wife, Lela.
