Pointed Form (Sculpture #41), 1965 by Jack Beder is a stone sculpture with a wood base, 5.5 x 12 x 7 in. signed on bottom. The structural form of this piece is like the wave of an ocean, strong and flowing with smooth contour. An abstract shape, the viewer determines what calls to their eye or their vision of his form. The stone in the sculpture appears to be marble or soapstone, whereas soapstone tends to have a softer and waxier finish than marble. The detailing in the veins and the shine give this piece an intricate delicateness that is dynamic to its shape.
