Old Houses, Fulking by Henry Glyde (1906-1998) is a 10 x 12 inch oil on board. It was produced in 1975 by Glyde and depicts three male figures gathered in front of a row of quaint country homes. A bold blue sky and rolling fields bring a cheery atmosphere to this piece, the brushstrokes and composition drawing the eye around the canvas.

Born in England, Glyde went on to become an icon in Western Canadian Art. He moved to Canada in the mid 1930’s and made an indelible mark on the Art and Culture of the land over his lifetime. His career spanned over thirty years and he is remembered for his dedication to art education and community engagement.
