Muskoka Cabin by John Angus Palmer is a 10 x 12 inch oil on panel produced in 1972 and signed in the bottom right corner. The piece depicts a solitary cabin amidst a snow covered field. The silhouette of pine trees can be seen off into the distance. Palmer uses a muted palette with limited colour to portray the cold and isolation of the scene. The focal point is the cabin itself, held between the snow and the sky in the center of the piece, inviting the viewer inside.

John Angus Palmer had a great love for portraying landscapes from Northern Ontario, although he painted all across Canada.
