Old Quebec City by Stanley Francis Turner is a 10.75 x 7.25 inch etching on paper protected by museum glass and signed in the bottom right corner. The black and white etching depicts a traditional Quebec street scene. The figures in the piece stop for a chat as they go about their daily business. Turner uses dark shapes to frame the piece and draw the eye into the scene. He uses fine lines and incredible detail to truly capture the old part of Quebec City and transport the viewer back in time.
Stanley Francis Turner was born in England but spent much of his art career in Canada where he was best known for his etchings and wood carvings of Toronto and Quebec.
