March, Rupert, Quebec by Henri Masson is an 18 x 24 inch oil on canvas that was produced in 1978 and signed in the bottom right corner. This vibrant landscape depicts a winter scene from rural Quebec. Simple structures line a snow-covered hill that is dotted with wooden fence poles and patches of pine trees.
Painted in a rainbow of swirling colours, Masson captures the light-hearted nature of the season, portraying it in a joyful and exuberant way. His quick and gestural brush strokes add movement to the piece which was on display at the Walter Klinkoff Gallery in Montreal and Heffel in Toronto before becoming part of the Rookleys collection.
