Mists Across the Valley by Robert Genn is a 10 x 12 inch oil on board produced circa 1975 and signed in the bottom right corner. The piece also features a signature and title on the reverse side along with the artist inventory #704. The painting depicts the sun as it sets over a secluded lake; a rainbow of colours reflecting over the water. Genn uses a myriad of soft pastels to create a whimsical, almost dream-like atmosphere. Dark silhouettes of tree trunks dominate the foreground of the composition, contrasting with the colourful landscape beyond.
