Jaujac, Ardéche, France by Henri Beau is a 7.5 x 9.5 inch oil on panel produced circa 1939 and signed in the bottom right hand corner. It is also titled on the reverse. The painting depicts a quaint French countryside. Lush green fields surrounded by mountains roll off into the distance. Terra cotta roofs and the steeple of a church peak over the treeline of a forest that lines the hill. Beau uses soft colours and loose brush strokes to capture the essence of the landscape. This piece was part of a private collection in Niagara before joining us at Rookleys.
