Poppies in Full Bloom by David Drum is a 12 x 29 inch oil on canvas produced in 2024 and signed in the bottom right corner. The painting depicts a vibrant garden bed as seen from eye level. Bright red poppies fill the composition on either side while a medley of wildflowers can be seen further off into the distance. Drum uses bold, saturated colours and layered brushstrokes to create this cheerful, floral landscape which comes to Rookleys directly from his Crystal Beach Studio.

Drum is a local legend in Niagara known for his use of colour. His artistic talents were recognized at a young age but he spent many years in the chiropractic field before making the move to art full time. His work is inspired by the Impressionist techniques of Claude Monet.
