Eventide by David Drum is a 32 x 30 inch oil, acrylic, gold leaf and glitter on reverse glass panel. This large abstract piece was produced in 2014 and is signed on the reverse by the artist. It utilizes a bold colour palette of saturated jewel tones and iridescent metallics. The playful brushstrokes seem to dance across the panel in a child-like way. Drum combines long loose lines with splatters and scribbles to keep the eye whirling around the piece in endless circles, each time finding something new within the image. The piece was created in collaboration with David's wife, Barbara Vance, and came to us straight from the couple's Crystal Beach Studio.

Drum loves using vibrant colours and abstracted imagery to create these exciting and energetic pieces. He is most celebrated for his abstract landscapes but started his art career as a medical illustrator and spent years as a Chiropractor. Rookleys Canadian Art is proud to have him in our collection as one of our very few contemporary artists.
