The Falls at Dawn - Winter Ice by David Drum is a 24 x 24 inch oil on archival foamcore produced in 2024 and signed in the bottom right. The piece depicts world-famous Niagara Falls in the wintertime, when the mist from the falls freezes from the extreme cold. Using a palette of yellow and blue, Drum manages to convey these chilly temperatures and the movement of the water as it tumbles over the edge of the falls. Drum a strong contrast between light and dark, adding weight and dimension to the piece.
Drum, a Crystal Beach local, is well known for producing colourful landscape pieces that play with light and texture. This piece comes to us directly from his studio.
