October Lore, St. Jovite, Quebec, c. 1914 by Wilkie Kilgore is a watercolour piece painted in autumn prime. This piece is signed in the bottom right corner. The effect of glowing warm tones contrasted with the muted day is posed within the composition. Over the water, the painted reflection adds life to the flowing water that will soon start to ice. To complement the oranges and yellows emitted in the sky and water are hazy blue hills in the distance. The impressionistic movement of this piece above and below the horizon is composed of the ripples in the water and the breeze in the background of the trees. You would imagine visitors and Quebec locals alike walking towards the deck as an outlook point.
