The Little White House by Frank Hennessey is a 13.5 x 17.3 inch pastel on paper that is protected by museum glass. The piece was produced circa 1940 and signed in the bottom left. It depicts a quaint country landscape at the start of the autumn season. Trees off in the distance have already begun to turn bright orange and yellow. A white house with a small red chimney sits on the left side of the composition looking onto an open field. A barn can be seen off to the right and a simple wooden fence runs along the perimeter of the farm.
Hennessey was known for his ability to depict vivid landscapes with colour and life in pastel. This piece was on display at Watson Art Galleries in Montreal before making its way to Rookleys Canadian Art.
